I'm a student in Vephla University's Design School, Cohort 9B, and from the very first day at the students' orientation, I knew I had made the right decision. The mentor who welcomed us spoke passionately about perseverance, dedication, and putting your whole heart into learning. His words stayed with me, and I made a promise to myself that I would give this journey everything I had.
Six months into the programme, I already had job offers from companies in both Nigeria and the United States—all because I consistently built, shared my work, and trusted the Vephla process.
One habit that completely transformed my career was something our mentor made compulsory from the beginning: consistently sharing our work. At first it felt like just another assignment, but over time it became part of who we were as Vephla students. Posting projects regularly on LinkedIn exposed my work to recruiters and professionals, and before long, amazing opportunities started finding me.
Six months into the programme, I already had job offers from firms in both the United States and Nigeria. One of my landing page design assignments even caught the attention of a U.S.-based business growth podcaster, who invited me onto his show to discuss how design and landing pages influence business growth. It was incredible to realize that something I created for class could have such a meaningful real-world impact.
Another thing that sets Vephla apart is its learning structure. Every class is followed by practical assignments with strict deadlines. It's not simply about completing projects—it's about delivering quality work on time. That discipline changed me completely. Week after week, I built new skills, became more confident, and learned how to perform under pressure, just like in a professional workplace.
Looking back at my very first landing page design, I can hardly believe I was the one who created it. Then came another project, and another, until I found myself confidently handling increasingly challenging design problems. The pace at Vephla is demanding, but that's exactly what helped me grow so quickly.
One of my favorite parts of the programme has been collaborating with students from different schools, including Frontend Engineering, Project Management, and Data Analytics. These cross-functional team projects gave me firsthand experience of how real product teams operate, teaching me how to communicate effectively, receive feedback, collaborate with different specialists, and deliver solutions together.
I never imagined I'd thrive in tech, but six months later I have real job offers, practical experience, and a level of confidence I never thought possible. That's what we proudly call the "Vephla Effect." I'm incredibly grateful to Vephla University for believing in me, pushing me beyond my comfort zone, and helping me discover what I'm truly capable of achieving.
